About the Project

Soho XL Expanded Mesh, powder coated to RAL 1002, supplied by Locker Architectural. Fabrication and installation works carried out by Air 3 Limited.

The mesh has been radiused and used to screen off two vertical ducts, fixed using semi-circular brackets. To radius more easily, the long way of the aperture runs vertically, whereas normally this runs horizontally.

About the Project

Situated atop the flagship Decathlon store, Locker’s Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Canada Water, South London provides a centrepiece for the new Project Light residential and retail development. Locker utilised Coburg 12-12-12-12 spiral mesh for the enclosure walls.

Woven from 316 grade stainless steel, the spiral pattern forms an architecturally refined texture to compliment the surrounding surfaces. The spiral mesh was installed under tension to allow a clear vertical span of 7 metres to be achieved.

Locker also provided the Dyneema® ball-stop netting to the roof and inner curtains.

Coburg 12-12-12-12 Architectural mesh is a Codina Architectural product, supplied and distributed in the UK by Locker Architectural.

About the Project

Soho XL powder coated expanded metal car park façade at Sainsburys Brentwood. The main façade is designed to appear as a seamless, randomly undulating ribbon of mesh. In reality the mesh panels are carefully designed to avoid any visible panelisation or connection. Curved metal banding seamlessly holds the panels in place.

Two additional flat clad headlight screens covered in similar expanded metal bands are designed to mimic the main façades, and protect nearby housing from intrusive car headlights. The deceptive curvilinear form provides an elegant architectural screen, which economically both enhances and disguises the functional steel frame behind.

About the Project

Gladstone 80/10 architectural cable mesh installed as cladding at Wembley Stadium. The cable mesh is used to provide an aesthetically pleasing, semi-transparent 'skin' to the open areas of the building above the entrances.

Wembley Stadium was built on the site of the previous 1923 Wembley Stadium. It is a UEFA category four stadium and has a seating capacity of 90,000 (105,000 combined seating and standing). It is England's national stadium and the 2nd largest stadium in Europe. Designed by Foster and Partners and HOK Sport (now Populous), it includes a partially retractable roof.

About the Project

3000 square metres of Cromarty Laminate mesh was installed to augment roof glazing at the iconic Waterloo International Station.

Locker conducted structural and tensile tests of this material at Bath University. Dimensions for fabrication of all 432 individual panels were determined by detailed 3d laser survey. Locker then used their own unique installation system to securely retain the material within the roof space.
