About the Project

As part of a major refurbishment, Brocklebank 20/3 decorative wire mesh cladding was added to the concrete chimney stacks at Pulrose Power Station, Isle of Man.

This essential item of Isle of Man infrastructure could only be sited in a rural location. It was therefore important that the visually dominating chimney was carefully considered. The mesh cladding diffuses reflected sunlight and eliminates the harsh appearance of painted concrete.

The specification used for this project is: Open Area: 47%, Weight: 9.82 Kg/m2, Thickness: 5.5 mm.

About the Project

Perforated stainless steel panels were an ideal choice for cladding flue gas stacks at Peterborough gasworks due to their excellent durability and resistance to corrosion, particularly in harsh industrial environments. Stainless steel can withstand the high temperatures and acidic conditions typical in flue gas applications, providing long-lasting protection for the stack structure. The perforations allow for efficient ventilation, reducing the risk of heat build-up. The project sustainability is enhanced due to the panels being made from recycled material, and with no paint or other coatings required, the panels are 100% recyclable at end of life. The modern, sleek appearance enhances the visual aesthetic of the gasworks site.
