About the Project

Aviva Studios, the home of Factory International, is a cultural and entertainment space for Manchester.

For this project, spiral mesh was selected as the perfect solution for veiling the rooftop plant equipment, delivering a seamless aesthetic that integrates beautifully with the structural design. Each section of mesh was fabricated in full height units, and tensioned into place, negating the deployment of intrusive and costly steel frames.

The Eiffel 40 spiral mesh pattern was chosen specifically for its impressive 58% open area, allowing for optimal ventilation while maintaining an elegant appearance. Weighing in at just 4.8 kg/m², this lightweight solution offers both practicality and style.

Constructed from durable stainless steel, the mesh promises longevity and requires minimal maintenance, which is ideal for façade applications. Importantly, by using natural stainless steel rather than painting or coating the mesh, we have provided an incombustible façade which aligns with our commitment to sustainability whilst enhancing aesthetic appearance.
